What kind of projects ICI is involved in?

ICI primarily work with individual children through our Child Sponsorship Program. We have been involved in individual child development for about 10 years. We believe that working with children is a highly effective way of changing communities. Because changed people inevitably will change their circumstances.

Our holistic child development model is designed to help reduce the vulnerability of children and their families and build their resilience through year-round nutrition, health, education, and income generation support. Sponsorship of children provides them with a safety net against crisis situations, like famine and drought.

Can I fundraise for ICI?

We are a community-based organisation, as such your involvement will be much appreciated. Being an ambassador for the works of ICI is a great way of raising awareness and advocating for children living in poverty, while at the same time making a real difference in children's lives.

Can I volunteer with ICI?

We would love to have your involvement. There are many ways to volunteer with ICI. We are always in need of enthusiastic volunteers. You can become an ICI advocate for children as well. We can work with you to help provide opportunities for you to speak up and act on behalf of children. You might also like to consider becoming an ICI Prayer Partner to support our work through intentional prayer.

How long will it take for my gift to get to my sponsored child?

Giving a gift is a great way to meet a specific need. Even a small gift can make a huge difference in your sponsored child's life. Generally, we advise that a gift will take up 28 days from the receipt of the fund. The gift process depends largely on the infrastructure in your sponsored child's community. One hundred per cent of what you give is used to make the gift purchase.

Is it possible to visit my sponsored child?

It is not always possible. However, kindly send us the request well in advance. We will do our best to arrange your visit to your sponsored child and organise a staff member from the country office to accompany your visit.

How much money does ICI spend on advertising?

ICI advertises with selected media to help raise awareness for children living in poverty and to engage with both current and potential sponsors. A total of 10 per cent of funds raised is allocated to administration and fundraising, and 90 per cent is used for the direct benefit of children in our programs. Advertising costs come under the 10 per cent for administration and fundraising.
